![]() ![]() I have used Plex as my media management tool initially for its basic abilities and also the roaming access. Good luck. For some time I have been using my home QNAP server to manage TV recordings via 2 HDHomerun Quatros (gives you 8 recording tuners in effect) for several years and am onto my second server upgrade. Otherwise, Plex is really standing up to everyting I need. ![]() That is the only piece I am still looking for. I will be super happy when/if the plug-in works for Plex live TV plulled from HDHomerun. You could always write a couple of scripts to convert the files to MP4 or something a little less intensive when new files are added to the WMC directory (c:\public\Recorded TV). The processor is pushed to about 70 to 80% capacity but it does not studder or skip and I am able to move 8 Mbps around on my coax network. From what I understand, the WTV container format stores an audio and video track in MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 formats. ![]() What will you be using for recording the TV you capture from the HDHomerun device? I have used Windows Media Center for recording and my old Dell 3 GHz, quad core processor with 8 Gb of RAM, and the CODECs provided in Plex decode the widows TV files (.wtv) fine. My question is, if I add a new folder on my PMS called Recorded TV, and set this as the folder destination for the HDHR, will all my recorded shows be automatically viewable on Plex without me doing anything else (after a library update of course) or will I have to do something else to make the recordings work on Plex? So my alternate plan is to use the HDHR to record my TV shows which I can then make available to my various Plex clients. I recently got an HDHomerun which I was hoping to use to push live TV to a new TV that doesn't have a coax feed via a Roku, but after doing some more reading it doesn't appear that the HDHomerun app on Plex is working for most people. ![]()
